Doctor, please give me a break
so I can share my tale
Today I’m in a strange land,
it’s so sad, I’m feeling frail
I used to be so happy
living in my own space
I had a good horse
and loved to roam the place
Every day I’d call the cattle
by the gate of the pen
Eeeeiaaaa, êeee Star Cow, ohhhh Corn Bull
I’m a child of the Northeast,
I won’t deny my roots
But a terrible drought
has driven me from my boots
Back home I had my little herd, it’s hard to even think
My lovely Star Cow
and my handsome Corn Bull, I blink
That awful drought
turned everything upside down
Eeeeiaaaa, êeee Star Cow, ohhhh Corn Bull
There’s no grass in the fields to feed the cattle right
The backcountry’s all dried up,
it made the pond run dry
My Star Cow has died,
my Corn Bull’s gone away
I lost everything I had, I can’t call cattle anymore
Eeeeiaaaa, êeee Star Cow, ohhhh Corn Bull.
