Our Encounter
I used to be a well-known man in town,
Every day I collected taxes mercilessly,
Regardless of whether they were rich or poor,
Money was my life and my happiness.
But one day I heard about a man,
Who was passing through the streets of my city,
I felt something touch my heart,
I climbed a tree to see him among the crowd,
He told me to come down, called me by name,
It was the man who saved my soul.
Our encounter with Jesus,
We want to share today,
It's our life in communion,
It's the living testimony of his love.
Our encounter with Jesus,
We sing loud and with one voice,
We can't stay silent, today we want to proclaim,
That Christ lives in our hearts.
I used to have a reputation in town,
Every day I sold my body mercilessly,
Regardless of what the laws said,
This was my job and my necessity.
Caught in adultery they brought me,
To the teacher in the city temple,
They wanted to stone me,
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone",
Everyone left, no one condemned me,
It was the man who forgave my sins.
Our encounter with Jesus...
I also want to tell my town,
That Christ, the God-man, had mercy on me,
Regardless of me being a fisherman,
He gave me his peace, entrusted me with his truth.
And I accepted to be his faithful apostle,
I left my house, my family, and my home,
But when they arrested him I failed him,
I felt immense fear and denied him three times,
My repentant soul, unworthy of his love,
Was the soul that the man chose.
Our encounter with Jesus,
We want to share today,
It's our life in communion,
It's the living testimony of his love.
Our encounter with Jesus,
We sing loud and with one voice,
We can't stay silent, today we want to proclaim,
That Christ lives in our hearts,
That Christ lives in our hearts,
That Christ lives in our hearts.
