Vengan a Descansar

Come to Rest
When our flames start to fade away
And we feel our tired feet
And we don’t want to go on,
When we’re searching for support, for a light,
The Lord comes close and gives us
A wooden beam, a cross.
We feel beaten down, we avoid listening
To that voice inviting us to walk,
We let ourselves be defeated, we don’t want to move forward,
We don’t want any more weight on our journey...
"Come to rest in me, your tiredness will cease,
You must take my yoke, my burden is light, it won’t weigh you down,
You must be gentle and humble, learn from me,
If you feel overwhelmed, come to me."
It seems we’ve forgotten our Lord,
Consumed by routine, our souls
Become deaf to love,
His words are breath and comfort
For those who trust blindly
And surrender in prayer.
Because we can’t do it alone and it’s hard to understand
That in Christ everything is reborn,
Pain finds meaning, our eyes can see
With Him a new and beautiful dawn...
"Come to rest..."
Our souls won’t find rest without His love,
Let’s listen to that voice that cries out with fervor...
"Come to rest..."
