DUNES
Month of March in Salvador
summer is coming to an end.
All the bushes are in bloom
and I feel like in a garden
Who leaves Abaeté
heading to Flamengo beach
not by car but on foot,
through the dunes, into the bushes
will see such beauties
that are hard to describe:
there are orchids, bromeliads,
clean drinking water
little horses and tegus,
butterflies and beetles,
there are blue-green lizards
and golden foxes
Not to mention the birds,
centipedes and scorpions,
boa constrictors and nests
of vultures and owls
I see pink orchids
among yellow flowers
Colors dance. Hours go by
among watercolor spots
The afternoon descends. In the breeze
comes a hint of rosemary
A cricket sings. I feel life:
everything is inside me.
Month of March in Salvador
summer is coming to an end.
All the bushes are in bloom
and I feel like in a garden...
