The Groom
He prepared a day to come and fetch the chosen ones
Who preferred to suffer for love of His name
They were not ashamed before men
And accepted you, just like the wise virgins
They abandoned the pleasures of the world
And gave themselves entirely to Jesus, and lived here
At the foot of His cross, they did not deny His word
And lived on earth serving Jesus
The world does not know how to enjoy this glory
And the church is here to share, take advantage
Today is the opportunity, who knows
Tomorrow may be too late
Today they will ask for your soul, what have you prepared
And for whom will it be? Are you a wise virgin
Waiting for your groom, with the lamp lit
There were five foolish virgins and five wise ones
The wise ones waited with the lamp lit
And reserved so as not to run out, and the five foolish virgins
Enjoyed this world, despised the oil
And the lamp went out, here comes the groom
Midnight approaches, the wise one then said:
Go and see where there is oil
