Deja Que Silben Los Vientos (Milonga)
Ruben Alberto Benegas
Let the Winds Whistle (Milonga)
Let the winds whistle
And let the talas arch
That in this adobe ranch
Nothing has ever happened
The main beam and the scissors
Are very well secured
By some ropes and straps
That were well tanned
From a wild mare
That I broke in a lasso
Let the winds whistle
And let the waters punish
And let the evil light
Appear in the old shack
That everything that is light
Is better never to turn off
While I twist some straps
I anchor the kettle to the fire
And pour me some bitter mate
Companion of my soul
Let the winds whistle
And let it rain harder
How much we need here
For these waters to fall
Tomorrow when dawn breaks
With the morning star
I will saddle my horse
To saddle the herd
And go plowing these lands
And then be able to sow
Never be afraid of the wind
Nor fear the waters
Be afraid that you could
Do something bad
I will go saddle up
To bring the herd
You continue with your chores
For you are a beautiful girl
Let the winds whistle
And the evil light appear
