Le Canto a Mi Argentina (Milonga)
Ruben Alberto Benegas
I Sing to My Argentina (Milonga)
I sing to you with pride
To the most beautiful land
Generous Argentina
With determination and kindness
You show your gallantry
Full of courage and spirit
And you leave a message
That becomes a plea as you walk
And I want to sing to you
In my clearest language
You are the eternal companion
From the Andes to the silver
And you are a tender serenade
That forever reverberates
You are the heartfelt sorceress
That constantly envelops us
And you are a passionate rose
That leaves us its kindness
You are love and freedom
That gallops vigilantly
In the work of this land
Let tradition be carried
With the deepest emotion
Raising the handkerchiefs
May songs from the sky arrive
In the midst of dawn
May a flowery milonga
Stand out among the crowd
With grace and much vigor
I want to see you revered
All of America cradles you
As if you were a goddess
You clap gracefully
Under that moonbeam
You are as strong as none
Titanic and with passion
And you wave like a gust of wind
Your emblem of dawn
While I exclaim 'Argentina!'
I want the flag at its peak
