Me Gusta Cantar y Canto ((Milonga)
Ruben Alberto Benegas
I Like to Sing and I Sing ((Milonga))
I like to sing and I sing
Although I know little
But I will put my heart
And I advance to play the guitar
I like to sing and I sing
It doesn't matter if I do it wrong
If I know that everyone
Defends themselves in their own way
And understands the guitar
As soon as they start to tune it
I never hesitate
When asked to sing
And this I have learned
From my journey
I consider that singing
Is the essence of feeling
It's love, in absence
A remedy that soothes or heals
And a piece of tenderness
From those who gave us life
I like from time to time
To get tangled in the strings
Even more, if my soul is sad
Or my heart is in pain
I console myself by singing
And through singing I find life
Because through singing one forgets
Even if it's just for a moment
Sorrows that are inside
And are looking for a way out
There's something I owe to God
And that will never be repaid
It's the luck He has given me
To be just as I am
If I have to sing, here I am
Without saying: 'it's worth so much'
Even if it's worth I don't know how much
Even if it were a fortune
Because without any pretension
I like to sing and I sing
