Isabel

Isabel
The skies flicker confusing shadows
and the water begins to fall; a premonition
still unnamed envelops Isabel.
She releases a past laden with memories
sweeter than her reality; every time the sky
cracks she feels them coming.
Everything is possible and nothing is lost in Macondo.
Even its ghosts refuse to go elsewhere.
Isabel feels the rain in Macondo giving scent to her
loneliness and explanation to her anxiety, erasing sin.
It rains in Macondo; lightning, cleanses an ancestral pain.
Smile at your core because everything is possible
when one relives yesterday; time does not exist, nor
fear of what once was.
To wet grass, to enchanted land, today the garden
smells of nostalgia. A hundred years slip by, mysteries
that have no end.
Moonwater falls in Macondo,
cleansing an immortal sin.
