Altisimo Señor
Ruben Sotelo
Highest Lord
It was something like rain on dry land,
A ray of light suddenly in my darkness;
It was something like being in perpetual chain
And one morning hearing: 'I give you freedom.'
And being a vile sinner today as at your table,
Only your grace is enough for my heart.
It was something like being
In the deepest abyss
And a few seconds later
Flying above the clouds.
It was something like being
A tired pilgrim
Who knocks on the door and they say:
'I have a place for you.'
And being a vile sinner today as at your table,
Only your grace is enough for my heart.
Highest Lord in my lowliness
You have looked at me and reached out
The ladder of your love,
Your forgiveness gave me wings, oh my God;
Highest Lord, among my shadows
Your word illuminated my heart.
