La Casa Verde

The Green House
I found a place where boredom is not allowed to enter
Where I keep half of life undone
Love marks on the wrinkles of the mattress
And in our room time is in ruins
It seems that behind the curtains
The world is fighting but to you and me that doesn't matter
Sometimes the hours don't walk
I don't know what day it is, it's night again, and I sink into your lap
Street beasts guard the peace
Every night they climb the snail of the stairs to sneak into our bed
And everything burns in flames with the midday light
Cold sheets, skin and sweat
The wind that tangles in the blinds tells me
What no one wants to hear
It shakes the neighbor's palm tree and owl nests
That are in front of the house
All the bees come to die here
Because the sun comes to rest in this courtyard
After a long day
How much love is enclosed in this handful of bricks and how many wars
The hardness of the narrow that separates our mouths made me understand
That what I call home is simply being with you
