Xangô, O Vencedor!
Ruy Maurity
Xangô, The Winner!
Behind that mountain,
There's a beautiful waterfall!
It's from my father Xangô!
Who broke seven quarries!
It was water born in the spring and thorn in the flower!
From his hidden fear was born the courage to be a winner.
Dagger in hand, in the chest a more faithful shield,
from whom on earth conceived the sky!
There are seven quarries that he learned to break,
in the spark of fury, in the lightning of rain in the moonlight!
He washed his body with the bitter wine of sweat,
and made from his own good, of all evils, perhaps the smallest!
