J'avais Oublié Que Les Roses Sont Roses
Salvatore Adamo
I Had Forgotten That Roses Are Red
Look, a bird that's singing, look, a child at play
A flower that's dreaming up spring for a couple of bucks
Look, a sun that's shining, where's that coming from?
People smiling at me, does that really happen?
I had forgotten that roses are red
I had forgotten that bluebells are blue
I had forgotten so many beautiful things
I had forgotten where the hell were my eyes
A soft light wraps around me
A thousand familiar hands celebrate me like a king
I found my old life again, pretty faded sweaters
In a moment, I get dressed and head back to the past
I found myself in an old book I’ve read a hundred times
A world where it’s nice to live, even if it’s without you
And you, who are just a shadow in the sky way too blue
Finally, I’m among the happy fools
