Samba-Enredo
Academics of Grande Rio - Samba-Enredo 2007
Good at soccer, good at samba, passion
With Perácio, I learned to samba on the ground
And with Zeca Pagodinho, I let life take me where it wants
I call myself Grande Rio, and any day I'll get there
I'm gonna talk about my land, oh oh
My source of wealth
I'll open my heart
And sing the story of my home
Oh, what a great place to plant!
Good people who work hard: brave, warriors
Who cleared the land, oh oh, were charcoal makers
Built a municipality one hundred percent Brazilian
Then made airplane engines and created a union
A model of work and unity
When Rio de Janeiro was the capital
Foreign immigrants came here
And the dream of Caxias came true
It took emancipation to improve
There were laws, there were decrees
But the people's will prevailed
And at the old station
A farewell to Meriti, Caxias was born
The man in the black cape, the king of the lowlands
Helped the Northeasterners, a friend to the kids
Hail the church of the pillar: our belief, our faith
Joãozinho da Goméia was the king of candomblé
I want to play freely
Remember with nostalgia my roots
Join the party, in the congo group
Quadrilha and calango, I’ll dance happily
In my refinery
There's fuel for export
I'm from Caxias, I'm pure energy
Enough to brighten your heart
