Abraão, Isaque e Moriá
Samuel Mariano
Abraham, Isaac, and Moriah
In the early morning he left
Obeying the order he received
He woke his son, called his young men
And the boy obeyed without questioning
He follows the path to Moriah
With each step, his heart races
Wood and knife, son to be sacrificed
Testing the faith of old Abraham
They walked on the path for three days
From afar, the old man sees the place
Where, by divine order
He should sacrifice his son Isaac
Abraham follows
And upon reaching Mount Moriah
He placed the wood on the altar
Isaac rises and approaches
And begins to ask his father
The wood and fire are here
But where is the sacrificial lamb?
Abraham breathes, looks at Isaac
And answers a question so difficult
God will provide
God will provide
A lamb for Himself, my son
God will provide
The crucial moment arrives
To consummate the sacrifice
Abraham ties his son Isaac
And lays him on the altar
As he raised his hand
To consummate the sacrifice
Suddenly, he hears a heavenly voice
That begins to shout from the sky
No, do not do this, it shouted
For now I know that you fear me
And at that moment, the lamb appeared
And was offered in place of Isaac
Abraham approved
And later in the New Testament
This same scene occurred
God loved the world in such a way
That He offered His only son
The four corners that were on the altar
Were repeated on the cross
The Lamb dies
To save the church
On the high mountain, my Jesus died
I was an Isaac
It was me who should have suffered
But on the high mountain appears the Lamb
Who decided to die in my place
