God Writing
Who applauds your moment
Would rarely applaud your story
Because they don't know your suffering
They only cling to your moment of glory
You know what? This is not new, it has always happened
With our parents in faith, it happened like this
And despite being chosen
Holy men, full of God
Their stories had their bad moments
Who would applaud David for the adultery he committed?
You only remember when he brought down the giant
Who would applaud Moses for the murder he committed?
You only remember when the sea parted and Israel passed through
It's always like this
The moment is what matters
Few are interested in knowing the story
But God saw you
When you knocked on the door
Knocked, cried, insisted, and no one came to answer
But God was writing
You crying and God writing
You falling and God writing
Getting up and God writing
Hot-headed and God writing
Distressed and God writing
Desperate and God writing, oh
He never abandoned you
When you stopped, He was there
When you cried, He was there
When you smiled, He was there
When you fell, He was there
And no matter who doesn't want to know
He knows, He saw, and He likes you
The moment may even disappear from memory
But there is a God in heaven who does not despise your story
Who would applaud David for the adultery he committed?
We like the part of the story where he brought down the giant
Who would applaud Moses for the murder he committed?
We like to preach that the sea parted and Israel passed through
It's always like this
The moment is what matters
Few are interested in knowing the story
But God saw you, saw you, saw you
When you knocked on the door
Knocked, cried, insisted, and no one came to answer
But God was writing
You crying and God writing
You falling and God writing
Getting up and God writing
Drunk and God writing
All drugged up and God writing
Desperate and God writing, oh
He never abandoned you
When you cried, He was there
When you stopped, He was there
When you smiled, He was there
When you fell, He was there
And no matter who doesn't want to know
He knows, He saw, and He likes you
The moment may even disappear from memory
But there is a God in heaven who does not despise your story
The moment may even disappear from memory
But there is a God in heaven who does not despise your story
Your story
