Heads and Tails
Lost count of the mistakes made
and doesn't tire of asking for forgiveness.
Punishes himself in silence and opens his chest to the cold,
is the master of his slavery
betting the remains of his tired dignity
and knows there's no turning back.
I know him better than I ever admit
between us, we are heads and tails.
I face him every morning when I look in the mirror
and see that I'm in bad shape,
and I know I could be worse
and so begins the endless battle
against the darkest part of my heart
and I realize that's me, that's me..that's been me.
He knows well that life never forgives cowardice,
sooner or later you have to pay,
between wine and hysteria, he plays at being suicidal
to see who ends up standing.
I face him every morning when I look in the mirror
and see that I'm in bad shape,
and I know I could be worse
and so begins the endless battle
against the darkest part of my heart
and I realize it's me.
I face him every morning when I look in the mirror
and see that I'm in bad shape,
and I know I could be worse
and so begins the endless battle
against the darkest part of my heart
and I realize it's me
that's me, that's been me, that's me, that's been me!!
