Liberta-Me de Mim
Sarah Beatriz
Set Me Free from Myself
I don’t understand my own actions
Without Your grace, what would I be, God?
For the good I want to do, I don’t do
And the evil I don’t want, that’s what I end up doing
In my being, flesh and spirit are at war
In an endless battle to which I won’t surrender
For my body has been sold as a slave
And there’s no good in me, just sin
But I know that deep inside
I take pleasure in Your law, You are my beloved
So set me free from myself
I want to be Your home
If You’re here
I know I can overcome sin
So fill me with You
Until there’s no more space
For when I’m in Your presence
My life is transformed
For the good I want to do, I don’t do
And the evil I don’t want, that’s what I end up doing
In my being, flesh and spirit are at war
In an endless battle to which I won’t surrender
For my body has been sold as a slave
And there’s no good in me, just sin
But I know that deep inside
I take pleasure in Your law, You are my beloved
So set me free from myself
I want to be Your home
If You’re here
I know I can overcome sin
So fill me with You
Until there’s no more space
For when I’m in Your presence
My life is transformed
And I become
Free to live Your will
As I get to know You
My whole being fills with goodness
And the spirit reigns over the flesh
So set me free from myself
I want to be Your home
If You’re here
I know I can overcome sin
So fill me with You
Until there’s no more space
For when I’m in Your presence
My life is transformed
And I become
Free to live Your will
As I get to know You
My whole being fills with goodness
And the spirit reigns over the flesh
And the spirit reigns over the flesh
