It's the usual story of the shepherd…
The poor boy
wanted to tell it, and fell asleep.
There is oblivion in sleep.
How I envy him!
I too would like to sleep like this,
to find oblivion at least in sleep!
I seek peace in my dreams:
I wish I could forget everything.
But every effort is in vain... Before me
I always have her sweet face!
The peace taken away is always from me...
Why must I suffer so much?
Her!... she always appears in my heart!
Fatal vision, leave me!
you hurt me so much!
