El Regreso

The Return
Tell me my son how have you been
on your long journey, on your way.
So much time has passed, grandpa
and therefore I remember everything
I met the world and now I return
my head full of everything I have lived, suffered
experienced, and with the memory of my people
always in my mind present,
looking for a future,
never forgetting the past
I saw so many different people
poor, rich, all are the same
all want power
cats want to eat lions
few have their eyes open, well, well!
they don't want to see, they hide
that's why in a world of blind people, the one-eyed are dressed as kings.
man burns the forests, spits on the seas,
insults his own mother!
abuses the earth, spends and wastes
the river's waters, ha!
if you work you are a slave,
if you don't work you're not worth a penny
this is the logic of schizophrenic economy,
that suffocates you, torments you,
trying to make you believe that all that glitters is gold
that's their goal!
give you a handout every day to shut you up
and keep you passive!
grandpa freedom has its chains
it has its price, it has its weight,
in gold, silver, and coins.
the heart of man is one heart
on your long journey, on your way.
it has its mystery and its complication
on your long journey, on your way.
so many stars shine, accompany you, always with you
on your long journey, on your way.
walker there is no path
the path is made by walking
on your long journey, on your way.
on your way.
on your way.
on your way.
on your way
