The King and the Thief
My eyes so tired
And marked by pain
I no longer cared about life
Worthless, all in vain
Humiliated on a cross
Seeing hatred in every glance
Just wanted one more chance
To start anew, take a stance
I tried with all my might
To gaze at the other cross
Who was that man they called
Jesus, at such a loss?
Who shared with me there
Loneliness, shame, and pain
Why did so many hate Him
While others loved Him, not in vain?
Your gaze made me shiver
Believing God was there
I could forget my pain
Had by my side a King
Dying for love, so rare
In the light of Your gaze
I felt Your forgiveness
You washed my heart with Your blood
I know this love won't regress
I believe You're God's Son
No one ever looked at me this way
When You enter Your kingdom
Remember me, I pray
Your gaze made me shiver
In the midst of so much pain, trying to convey
I chose you, My child
