Black Horse
I have a black horse
By the name of Windstorm
A twelve-brace lasso
On the hide of a heifer
I have a fierce dog
That's for my company
I'm a carefree countryman, oh, I have no family
On the back of my horse
I travel all day long
From one state to another
I have no fixed address
Whoever wants to be my boss
Better offer me more money
I'm well known throughout this whole Brazil
I have a gaucho cape
That I traded with a cattle driver
I have two large sheepskins
Pure wool
One serves as a mattress
And the other as a pillow
With my gaucho cape, I cover my whole body
Goodbye, I'm already leaving
I'll stay in another city
The day after tomorrow, very early
I want to be in Piedade
God gave me this destiny
And a lot of happiness
When I ride with my horse, I leave a trail of longing
