That Train
Every time I dream, every time I wake up
all I hear is that train.
Running down its tracks and sure of where it’s headed
I wish I could be on it someday.
And take me home where I know I want to be
and bring me from afar and put me in my place.
And above all, there’s one thing I’d like to add
that on that train there’s no going back.
I want to arrive.
I close my eyes tight and I hear it as it walks
breaking through the time that’s passed.
Bringing me joy and shouting as it goes by:
get on, buddy, you know where you’re going.
And take me home where I know I want to be
and bring me from afar and put me in my place.
And above all, there’s one thing I’d like to add
that on that train there’s no going back.
And may no one ever stop its ride
and let’s keep following that train.
