Letter to the Flat Earthers
I built my rocket using rhyme
To see the earth from above beyond the solar system
I took cachaça, rapadura, and cassava
Five taboca flutes to have a rave up there
When I arrived, I was welcomed to a celebration
With mix and hurdy-gurdy, rubacão, and vatapá
I looked down and saw the earth all round
I chuckled and went back to celebrating
For you who say the earth is flat
I didn't want to contradict you
It's hard to be disappointed
But sometimes we are mistaken
If science seems profane
I advise you to jump into the sea
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
I stopped at the Moon to make some coffee
I invited Saint George, the holy warrior, for a ride
I left my banner stuck in the ground
Before heading to Mars in my swift rocket
Through the window made of scrap metal
I saw the fire in the forest burning all over Brazil
I saw the concrete growing and taking over
My head spinning from seeing so much despair
For you who say the earth is flat
I didn't want to contradict you
It's hard to be disappointed
But sometimes we are mistaken
If science seems profane
I advise you to jump into the sea
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
For you who say the earth is flat
I didn't want to contradict you
It's hard to be disappointed
But sometimes we are mistaken
If science seems profane
I advise you to jump into the sea
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
And swim, and swim, and swim, and swim, and swim
