Afirmação de Vida

Affirmation of Life

The cars, the houses, the neighborhoods and the masses
The streets, slums, alleys and squares
The bars and walls of pioneering men
All the freedom to be a prisoner

The cars, the houses, the neighborhoods and the masses
The streets, slums, alleys and squares
The bars and walls of pioneering men
All the freedom to be a prisoner

Taking the first step is a fact but in any case
I see and everything is desire, I do without knowing what I think
I breathe what is not for the living and live full of fatigue
I prefer to be a harmful being and live off those below

My eyes are half-closed wanting to see if something is wrong
The world getting stuffy, the traffic is jammed
And walking slowly everything is as it should be
Progress for the wealthiest and the rest in limbo
Boredom has become a trend and trends have become boredom
There are buildings in the periphery and slums in the periphery of the buildings

It's a rich hobby to lobby, and the state is the good blood that covers
Sets the table when it's for companies, not when it's for the poor
For the nobles so much kindness, it was with great delicacy
That said to the suffering people that it's noble for you to be the prey
And working from the heart, for the sake of your corporation
Living like decoration, your function is to improve the environment for others
There is nothing the same, each one has their own
Some go by bus and the boss goes by imported car

So many of ours gathered here tell me a little more than nothing
So many of ours gathered here... yeah... all in the same house
They contribute to this factory of sorrows
Whether it's the traffic or the concrete maybe something in the water
All walk side by side and nothing here was planned
They are sharing the same space without even being invited
They are all complete strangers to each other, indifferent
So different from each other, they don't even seem to be the same people
But what unites is what separates and worse days are not coming
All united in blocks competing against each other

I don't know if I understood, one thing I learned
That these cars won't fly, they'll stay stuck here
Because the city hates, but always loved to tell you
You don't hate the city, it hates you

The cars, the houses, the neighborhoods and the masses
The streets, slums, alleys and squares
The bars and walls of pioneering men
All the freedom to be a prisoner

The cars, the houses, the neighborhoods and the masses
The streets, slums, alleys and squares
The bars and walls of pioneering men
All the freedom to be a prisoner

It's funny and few are connected, but many feel alone
They worry about what's far away, but don't even help their neighbors
The rush not to miss the boat, confesses not knowing where
If the goal leads to the top or only to the foot of the mountain

Walls are full of graffiti and streets are full of trash
It's a very civilized world, there's no space for any other animal
No space for any more life, no life acting freely
There's active social life and it doesn't stimulate the mind

Now I see clearly the dirty in something clean
Democracy is just a fake shield but remains indistinct
Security cameras protect all enclosures
But nothing like hope to believe it can't be extinguished

Welcome to the largest forest and it's cold and gray
We are ants in the pantry consuming this planet
And those who don't live at least try, some make the jungle violent
Here the blood is mixed with holy water, to me it's asking for a comet

Yeah... the empire is so decadent, it avoids moving forward
If it had a face it wouldn't be able to show its teeth
But for the life of a dead person, if I analyze the whole
I aged, I grew taller and the walls increased along

Just protecting my affairs, everything is going well
If I give you the chance to mess everything up I doubt you won't come
I help you to be happy and have everything you don't have
If the top left the root and came here crazy to be someone
And you have the chance too or at least the promise
Or at least you think, or apparently don't contest
If what remains is to try to be happy with rain or party
Because the witch is loose and the witch is in a hurry

The city has a thousand and one good things to see
To have, to feel, to buy and to sell
Because the city has life but never dared to tell you
You don't live in the city, it lives in you

The cars, the houses, the neighborhoods and the masses
The streets, slums, alleys and squares
The bars and walls of pioneering men
All the freedom to be a prisoner

The cars, the houses, the neighborhoods and the masses
The streets, slums, alleys and squares
The bars and walls of pioneering men
All the freedom to be a prisoner
