Mozart, Un Niño Genial
Sheila Blanco
Mozart, A Brilliant Child
Once upon a time, a brilliant child
Who learned to play
And compose before speaking
Amadeus was in the movie
Mozart for everyone
He went with his dad
From here to there
Surprising kings
And high society
And breaking many records
Of skill at a young age
At 4 he plays the clavichord
At 6 he already masters the violin
Reads music at first sight
And improvises like John Coltrane
Once upon a time, a brilliant child
And his father, a clever manual man
They toured Europe for years
Showing off the boy
Through the Courts of Munich, Paris, London, and The Hague
And in his native Austria, he enchanted the Emperor
In Versailles, The Mozarts
Play for King Louis XV
His first Oratorio finished at 9 years old
The truth is that Mozart's work
Today has no equal
Because, like a good virtuoso
He did everything, as you can see!
Between concerts, symphonies, masses
Operas, sonatas, arias, they added up to 626
He worked hard on the pianoforte and on Johann Sebastian Bach
And he was so good that he played his keyboard without looking
His handwritten scores were made without corrections
And he became very famous, a rock star
But as it happens today in our social networks
Mozart also had some haters
A contemporary composer of his named Antonio Salieri
But this could never be proven
The fact is that if you watch the movie called Amadeus
There Salieri is portrayed as the embodiment of evil, and yes, he is accused of being
An undesirable, envious, and impostor who leads poor Amadeus to his end
What can be said that hasn't been said about Mozart!
That his music heals the soul and moves the heart
That his work is the cornerstone of classicism
And that it was a great loss how young he died
And although the man worked from dawn to dusk, he suffered his hardships
And although Mozart never went to Istanbul
What you hear, the Turkish March, is Sonata in A major, Rondo
