Los Días

The Days
The days are unraveling for me
Underneath the tongue and at the center
And I seek a little bit of calmness
To see if what I sing saves me
From goodbyes and sorrow
From bitter condemnation
From living like a bewildered child
Who lives imagining waterfalls
And like one who predicts the collapse
In every heart I become fire
And I keep colors
Of afternoons and flowers
The days are unraveling for me
Underneath the tongue and at the center
And I seek a little bit of calmness
To see if what I sing saves me
From goodbyes and sorrow
From bitter condemnation
From living like a bewildered child
Who lives imagining waterfalls
And like one who predicts the collapse
In every heart I become fire
And I keep colors
Of afternoons and flowers
