I looked for you, Lord
In the sky, on earth, and in everything, in the end
I just forgot to search for you within myself

I searched for you in the scriptures from beginning to end

In the vastness of the sea and in the firmament
In the perfection of your teachings
So close and sometimes so distant
For so many moments

I searched for you in the sky, on earth, everywhere
In the sounds, in the music, and in the verses
My Lord
In the gifts of healing, in the sciences and in the arts
And in the secrets of the universe, in the universe

I searched for you, Lord
Also in the forces of nature
In the power of fame and in the strength of wealth
And even in the conclusions of the wise
For a certainty

I searched for you, Lord
In religions, in philosophy books
I fasted and meditated for so many days
In the reason and in the whys of everything
Of everything that I saw
But only after I searched for you within myself
In your love, I glimpsed the light
My Lord
Then I found you in everything, in the end
By recognizing Jesus
