Aunque No Esté De Moda
Silvio Rodrigues
Even If It's Out of Style
Today from me to you, today from you to me
I want to give you an old gift.
Let’s dust off some distant passions
some of those dreams without windows.
Let’s live without pause, without making poetry,
let’s learn the words of life.
Let’s strip down like old lovers
who have the same old things in front of us.
Let’s strip down like old lovers
let the lights go out and let the sun rise.
I want to save you from your nakedness
in the heart of loneliness.
I want to save myself by starting a revolution
from your crystal body.
Something’s happening to us, yesterday I read your palm
and every drawing questioned me as I looked.
Something’s happening to us, yesterday I flipped the switch
to turn on the light and I lit up the sun.
Today from you to me, today from me to you
let’s talk in a very low voice.
Tell me what’s going on, let me lift you up,
let me kiss you and heal you.
Let’s live without pause, without making poetry,
even if it’s out of style these days.
Even if it’s out of style, I ask for a hand,
my insides don’t care about aesthetics and changes.
Even if it’s out of style, repeat after me:
I want love, I want love, I want shared love.
I want to save you from your nakedness
in the heart of loneliness.
I want to save myself by starting a revolution
from your body just to change things up.
Something’s happening to us, a noise like footsteps
comes in the dark and then fades away.
Something’s happening to us, since people are
hell-bent
on wanting to love each other and being able to live.
