Al Final de La Segunda Luna
Silvio Rodriguez
At the End of the Second Moon
This is going to be my simplest song
that won't talk about anything and will talk about everything.
It's not necessary to mention life
to feel its presence in the eyes.
At the end
of the second moon
I started to do nothing with my hands
just for a moment, and then I felt
like speaking right to the human word,
to the human word.
As if it had no name
and there was no history of men,
beyond the atavistic past,
of the present and desired future.
Without any commitment to the world,
as if everything were this second,
as if everything was born from my lips
as if everything died from my lips.
There is another unknown dimension,
stronger than death and life.
More substantial than the world and its beauty,
that always is born and dies where it begins.
To be as one is, as one feels,
is clearer and darker than saying it,
than trying to explain it, that's why I don't continue
I just wanted to say that it's tremendous to be alive,
it's tremendous to be aliveeeeeeeeeee.
