El Colibrí Y La Flor
Silvio Rodriguez
The Hummingbird and the Flower
A flower grew on the edge of a fountain
Purer than the flower of emotion
And the hurricane suddenly broke it
The precious flower falling into the water
A hummingbird that was in its bower
Ran to save it, solicitous and fast
And every time it touched it with its beak
It submerged in the water with the flower
The hummingbird pursued it constantly
Never ceasing to search for it in its distress
And falling unconscious into the current
It met the same fate as the flower
So there are beings in the world
Whose life is worth a treasure
I am the hummingbird if you love me
My passion is the torrent and you are the flower
I am the hummingbird if you love me
My passion is the torrent and you are the flower.
