En Busca Del Tiempo Perdido
Silvio Rodriguez
In Search of Lost Time
Without a blue story
as a child I understood what I should have kept silent.
And brothers and sisters
hand in hand by the sea.
We didn't share modesty
and so it's not that bad.
Now I'm just looking
for the time I've lost since yesterday,
looking for what I should have made of myself,
something longed for in my childhood
why did I grow up afterwards.
I grew up believing it was my good
to become a man, and now you see me:
now I have to measure myself
to know how to live.
As time passed by
I lost the chance to pamper the ivory clouds.
and a sunflower fanning itself
under the sun.
I want that beautiful sunflower,
I want my turquoise blue sea,
I want my colorless cloud,
I want a star there:
where there is more darkness,
where my sea cannot be,
where I cannot remedy
the time I lost.
lalalala...
