Casiopea
Silvio Rodriguez
Cassiopeia
Like a drop I was from the tide
the beach turned me into a grain of sand.
I was a point in the crowd wherever I went
no one detected me and so I learned.
When I thought the task was fulfilled
turned my heart to Cassiopeia.
I faithfully fulfilled our plan:
to wait for a million years.
Today I carry the double giving coordinates
but no one answers my call.
What could have happened to my signal?
Could it be that I have run out of home?.
Today I barely survive my luck
far from my star, from my people.
The trance has shown me another lesson:
our own world is always the best.
I am weakening slowly
Perhaps I won't be myself when they find me.
