Derecho Humano

Human Right
I ask not to be looked at well,
I ask not to be looked at badly.
I ask, then, not to be admired
I ask, then, not to be followed
I'm just singing a little
just to sing.
I ask for a very simple night,
I ask for a very humble night
for me.
I ask for a very small night
to be
alone.
Who would have thought
when I was looking by the sea
for shells of pain.
If they had known me
back then
Oh, me!
I would have been a laughingstock
and not me.
And it's all because of my hands
-they haven't seen my hands up close-
they are still hard and soft
like me.
Who wants to come see me today,
who wants to feel me sleep,
who wants to know me,
who will say they know me
and will put their hands in the fire
to burn themselves with the memory.
Who wants a fair with disaster,
who wants a kiss of jealousy,
who wants more
and then leaves me alone.
Now.
What do they expect from the inferior man,
what do they expect from the common man
who knows nothing of love.
If we are just mirages
summed up in effervescence,
forbidden kisses at the door of the sun.
What do they expect, then, from an umbrella
with nightmare colors.
Away from me
and don't look back.
Away from here
and don't look at me.
More.
