La Cosa Está En...

The thing is to find you
the least expected day, anywhere,
coincidentally, where you and I
can see the surroundings with four hands.
The thing is in the improbable,
in the difficult, in the impossible.
The thing is right there, where it shouldn't be:
one step beyond the length of hands.

The thing is that one day
there will be time for everything:
to talk without haste,
to share dews,
to be a weekend as if living
were free time, space to be.
The thing is in the things
that I know and you don't know,
and in the things you know,
and I don't know yet,
and in the dreams we lack to fulfill
our dreams that are like songs.

The thing is in not going crazy,
in not accepting, in asking
what all the toys are for
that have given us trouble disarming and reassembling them.
The thing is that there is no
intelligent remedy other than
to use the pieces in the crossroads,
and keep going for now, even though beyond
we persist in creating our song
with the pieces we want to build
that will be the same.
