Hace Dos Perdices

Two Partridges Ago
Two partridges ago, I forgot that being happy
Was about twenty-some broken promises
And silent scars
Sick of healing wounds and tripping
On the same avenues
Two summers ago, a love got in the way
Pointed my compass to a strange place
Fired the gun to the other side
Whispered: Coyote, tonight we’ll be cowboys
Some winter ago, memories burn me
And little by little, they’re sucking my brains
That recognize, trapped
That maybe they didn’t take it too seriously
And you gave it your all
Two Aprils ago, a shot in my Achilles' heel made me immortal
To all the scars that today suffer in silence
And being happy was about twenty-some
Stories of punks and cowboys
Don’t put the brakes on
This serene sun
That wants to sing to the light of thunder
And there’s no remedy for this cruel cowboy
Because two partridges ago, I forgot that being happy
Was about twenty-some broken promises
And silent scars
Sick of healing wounds and tripping
On the same avenues
Two Aprils ago, a shot in my Achilles' heel made me immortal
To all the scars that today suffer in silence
And being happy was about twenty-some
Stories of punks and cowboys
Don’t put the brakes on
This serene sun
That wants to sing to the light of thunder
And there’s no remedy for this loyal cowboy
Because two partridges ago, we were both happy
Amidst so much fear of not following the rules
There’s no remedy
These are stories from when we were kids
When you were a punk and I was a cowboy.
