I escaped to Corrientes to fish for a dorado,
but since I didn't catch any, I ended up in Itatí,
I asked the Virgin to make me happy,
since I'm not from Corrientes, it seems like I lost.

I didn't catch any dorado but I'll be back soon,

Hours and hours on the boat and not a single bite,
so much bad luck that the day was cloudy,
if I were from Corrientes, it wouldn't have escaped me,
