I Come From
I come from a land in Cauca
Where at sunrise,
The man goes with his backpack,
Works and then it's beer and rum.
I come from a port without a port,
But one thing's for sure, that's where I'm from,
I come from Puerto Tejada, if you didn't know, I'm truly Colombian,
I come from sugarcane fields, from honest folks, I'm Colombian.
I come from a brown land,
Where the African left his legacy,
I come from where the fisherman rises,
And the bounty comes from the sea,
I'm from where the sun doesn't hide
Call for the flour that the Lord gave us,
Because I represent the valley, mountains, and seas, sugar and rhythm,
I come from Buenaventura, land of darkness, I'm Colombian.
We come from a land that rises
One in the sea, the other in the river,
We come from a country that suffers and cries,
But it's my Colombia and this is my own.
Sugar, my rhythm!!!!!
Eoeoeoa
From Cabo de la Vela, the Amazon is coming, mama
Oeoeoa
For my land, I truly love it, lolelola
Oeoeoa
Bring me a drum, an accordion, a guitar
Oeoa
To sing to Colombia
Oeoeoa
I’m full of desire
Eoeoeoa
Give me hot coffee because I want
Oeoeoeoa
Hey!!!!
What a blast, hey
And this goes out to my Puerto Tejada!!
Where I come from:
You laugh, you cry, you also fall in love
Where I come from:
There’s a hope for peace
There are kids who wish for it now
Where I come from:
Because I remember my little land,
My little canoe and a thousand places
Where I come from:
Hit that drum hard,
Aguardiente for everyone
Where I come from:
Beautiful port of the sea, my Buenaventura
Where I come from:
My heart wants to burst
When I think of Colombia
Where I come from.
Oh man!!
Eoeooeoa
How proud I feel to be a good Colombian
Oeoeo
If I think of my Colombia, I need nothing more.
Oeoeoa
Goodness is already blooming
Oeoeoa
Where are the Colombians?
