Here Lying
I'm going to get drunk at my old lady's grave,
She who suffered so much for me.
What bothers me, what can get me, is not having
arrived on time,
because I was in prison when she died.
Today here lying I remember her strength,
her will to fight,
I remember when I was locked up,
no friend of mine remembered me,
only my mother visited me, pitying my situation,
my sad situation,
she encouraged me, gave me courage,
because she was always there, I lived for her.
There are no friends, the ones I had
pretended their friendship to me,
I haven't forgotten when I was in prison,
no friend remembered my name,
and there I was rotting,
only able to curse my bad luck.
My mother used to tell me,
that in bed or in jail, the ones who come to visit you
are true friends.
She was the only one who remembered me,
she was my support, my salvation,
she gave me the hope I needed,
because she was always there,
she never abandoned me,
she never cared if I
was guilty or not.
