Madame Bovary

Madame Bovary
Like Madame Bovary
we all have a lover out there
like Madame Butterfly
we all have a suicide on standby
like Madame Pompadour
we don’t want to keep going on this tour
like Madame Recamier
nobody remembers yesterday's newspaper
This grandiose, Napoleonic display
holds no one accountable, and we pay and pay and pay
and there’s no poison for rats
who take advantage of their term
to make the holes that we pay and pay and pay
Like Madame Bovary
we all have connections in the PRI
like Madame Butterfly
a gringo screws you and doesn’t even say goodbye
like Madame Pompadour
so much misery gives us a touch of glamour
like Madame Recamier
even the biggest clown we call chancellor
This arrogant, monolithic, and disastrous excess
doesn’t deserve comments
but the price we pay is so high
that this debt we can’t shake off
and we pay and pay and pay and pay and pay
This shameless, tacky
delirious, illiterate, deranged, and bloodthirsty
Machiavellian and grotesque, perfumed and stinking
violent cannibalism that we endure and
endure and endure and endure
until we can’t take it anymore
And they can all go to hell!
