En Écoutant La Pluie
Sylvie Vartan
Listening to the Rain
I listen with a sigh to the trickling rain
Softly tapping on my windows
Like thousands of tears that remind me
That I am alone waiting for her
The only girl I love didn't understand
That she was the only one that mattered to me
And by the window I remain waiting
Watching for the sound of her steps
Rain, oh tell her to come back one day
And let a great love be reborn between us
The past will be nothing but a sad memory
But if after the rain the sun appears
And warms her heart
She will finally understand how faithful I was
And she will come to dry my tears
How can I tell her that I love her so much
And that I think of her and my heart is heavy
And that life without her means nothing to me
I listen with a sigh to the trickling rain
Softly tapping on my windows
Like thousands of tears that remind me
That I am alone waiting for her
Listening to the rain alone, I think of you
Listening to the rain alone, I think of you
Listening to the rain alone, I think of you
