The Tanks

Across the four corners of the world, we keep making,
Stockpiles of weapons to blow everything up,
Which, apparently, are only meant,
To deter and keep the peace.

Of course, there are some screw-ups,
The losses are massive,
But they’re not equal,
There’s the army, decked out from head to toe,
And then there are the others getting slaughtered!

It’s not always
Like in Hollywood movies,
Evil often triumphs over good!

So we send out the tanks again,
The ships, the bombs, and the choppers,
There are plenty of men,
We’ll lose some of them,
Apparently, their lives are worth nothing,
Or at least surely worth much less,
Than a simple missile,
On the American market.

Nothing like a damn war,
To forget scandals or stock market crashes,
The lobbies know how to get the ship back on course.
So screw the collateral damage.

So we send out the tanks again,
The ships, the bombs, and the choppers,
There are plenty of men,
We’ll lose some of them,
Apparently, their lives are worth nothing,
Or at least surely worth much less,
Than a simple missile,
On the American market.

We send out the tanks again,
A life is worth nothing, a life is worth no more,
We send out the tanks again,
A life is worth nothing, a life is worth no more.
