El Viejo Resina
Tako
The Old Resin
A old friend once told me,
While he slept peacefully among his branches,
Never stop running, and if you trip,
Cuss and get used to living with your clumsiness.
What matters is not looking back even if they call you,
And not paying attention to what the one ahead does.
You gotta be where the waters flow,
And take advantage, 'cause nobody gives anything away.
You should dream, 'cause only the dead
Settle for what they have, that’s the plain truth.
Maybe the forest scares you at night,
Close your eyes and listen closely to what it says,
That you’re not alone and you’re always welcome,
Even if you think that if there’s no one around, you’re screwed.
You can cry asking for the day to break,
Or curl up in its grass, 'cause there’s no better company.
You gotta be where the waters flow,
And take advantage, 'cause nobody gives anything away.
You should dream, 'cause only the dead
Settle for what they have, that’s the plain truth.
An old friend once told me,
While he slept peacefully among his branches,
Never stop running, and if you trip,
Cuss and get used to living with your clumsiness.
What can I give you so you don’t cry,
My old resin,
If where they plant tar,
Everything, everything comes to an end.
You gotta be where the waters flow,
And take advantage, 'cause nobody gives anything away.
You should dream, 'cause only the dead
Settle for what they have, that’s the plain truth.
