A Paixão de Cristo

The Passion of Christ
It was dawn when someone asked
Who is Jesus? He said: I am
And a kiss of betrayal took him
To the first trial
Where everything began
And there were six trials that Jesus went through
And there begins the suffering of a God who becomes man
Just to free those he loves
In one morning, pain and agony
His body almost naked
Was whipped, bone tips with iron
That tore his flesh, almost exposing his organs
He was torn apart
Wrapped in a sheet, thorns were nailed into his skull
They pulled the cloak from his body
Without thinking of the suffering
Causing the wounds to open again
A normal person would have died from hemorrhage
He carries the weight of the cross
He bears the sin of man
Harder than standing
Is the anguish of knowing it will go to the end
And the nails pierce the nerves of his wrists and feet
Causing a burst of pain in his brain
The weight of his body crushes his lungs
Slowly suffocating him
For several hours he faces limitless pain
Repeated contortions, cramps, asphyxiation
Chest pains, muscle paralysis
But there his heart strives to pump blood
And say his last words
Father, into Your hands I commit my spirit
A spear still pierces his side
But he had already departed
It was for love that our Jesus endured all this
It was to say that he never gives up on you
It was to prove that regardless of where you are
He waits for you
The captives were set free, those in prison came out
Those who were slaves could choose their liberation
He proved that unlike men
His greatest passion is the human being
Yes, I love the message of the cross
Until I die I will proclaim it
I will also carry my cross
Until I exchange it for a crown
It was for love that our Jesus endured all this
It was to say that he never gives up on you
It was to prove that regardless of where you are
He waits for you
The captives were set free, those in prison came out
Those who were slaves could choose their liberation
He proved that unlike men
His greatest passion is the human being
It is the human being
He loves you
I know, it's you
The greatest passion of Christ
