Sparrow on Christmas Morning
The snow has already covered the flowers in the valley,
The lake waves frozen in the winter frost.
Tiny sparrow, eaten summer's meal,
The lake waves frozen in the winter frost.
On the steps of a small cottage was a golden girl:
Come, sparrow, joyfully, take the seed from me!
It's Christmas, my homeless unfortunate sparrow,
Come here joyfully, take the seed from me!
To the girl flew joyfully the sparrow:
Gratefully I'll take the seed from you.
God wants to reward you one day.
Gratefully I'll take the seed from you!
I am not, my child, a sparrow from this land,
I am your little brother, came from heaven.
The tiny seed, that you gave to the poor,
Your little brother received from the land of angels.
