The Last Supper
We come with open hearts
Full of love, praise, and gratitude
Forgive us if we have failed you
We want to be close to you, oh Jesus
To eat the bread that satisfies and gives me life
To drink the wine that makes me free in you
And then pour out my soul in praise
And thus be closer to you, oh Jesus
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you
That the Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread
And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said
'Take, eat; this is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me'
Let us all eat of the bread
In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying
'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me'
Let us all drink of the wine
Therefore, whenever you eat this bread and drink
This cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes
