Recuerdenme
Teresa Parodi
Remember Me
Remember me if I leave
With that quiet way
Of walking through innocence
That I know you, that I know you
Remember me, my little ones
Remember me in wonder
Remember me in the joy
With which we lived after all
Remember me in the small
Words with which I name you
And perhaps in the transparency
Of the heavenly that was so deep
I don't want to be remembered
In anything painful
Life is a tremendous
Hope open in front of our eyes
Remember me in that lullaby
That always sounded like little
Remember me in the caresses
And in the anger, in the anger
Maybe I couldn't love you
Better but I gave everything
I ask you to forgive me
For how inattentive I was in my own way
One can never
Fully learn to be a mother
And being a child is so difficult
That the way is almost always in doubt
Life rushes so much
And lasts so little for us
The good thing is to understand
That nothing should be attempted alone
The verses I sing here
Have no more than a whim
Asking you to remember me
When you look at each other
Life is so beautiful, little ones
That talking about death is foolish
Remember me in the joy
With which we lived after all
