As 10 Pragas do Egito
Tia Raquel Almeida
The 10 Plagues of Egypt
In a distant time, a story to sing
The 10 plagues of Egypt, come listen!
Water into blood, a river shining
God shows His power, Pharaoh questioning
Jumping frogs everywhere
Hopping and croaking, without a care
Lice appeared, a plague to bite
Scratching heads, no one can deny
Swarms of flies, buzzing in the air
Flying around and not stopping
Sick animals, a lament in their eyes
Herds suffering, hard to bear
Painful ulcers, wounds emerging
Marking the skin, the people crying
Hailstorm, hail punishing
Falling from the sky, the earth trembling
Hungry locusts, devouring
Harvests, crops, leaving nothing
Darkness covered, the night lasting
Deep darkness, unable to see
The tenth plague, a lament in the air
Firstborns touched, a people crying
But at Passover, the light shone
Lamb and blood, symbol of Jesus
Freedom and joy, at Calvary it was done
The story of the plagues, with love God undid
But at Passover, the light shone
Lamb and blood, symbol of Jesus
Freedom and joy, at Calvary it was done
The story of the plagues, with love God undid
Christ is our liberation, is our salvation!
