Mundo Velho

Old World
God made the world so beautiful, only beauties surround it
Placing in space: New moon and full moon
Made the Sun and divine light, which illuminates the whole world
In the sky, stars stand still, the Moon and the Sun stroll
God made the blue sea, it's the mermaid's castle
Made big and small fish and also made the whale
Made the land where I planted my coffee plantation
Lowland full of water where my rice grows
God made beautiful waterfalls, winding in the mountains
Made parrots that talk, birds that chirp
Tangará sings in flocks, nature adorns
For the feathered dancers, who tap on the branches
Old world has changed so much, that sand is already coming in
The big ones step on the small ones, poor things get disoriented
Those who work have nothing, the deceivers get rich
The poor don't win lawsuits, the rich don't go to jail
In the morals of the old world, the unworthy trample
There are people who even hate God's commandments
Churches are empty, they used to be full
What is bad is increasing, what is good no one sows
Oh my God! Come to earth because things are ugly here
But come prepared, bring whip and belt
There are even naked women in place of the holy communion
Only God can put an end to what the devil confuses
