Maracaibo Florido

Blooming Maracaibo
Blooming Maracaibo, old Maracaibo
That my Maracaibo with its colonial style
In my memories, I live your patron saint festivals
The parties with posters of Chiquinquirá
Blooming Maracaibo, old Maracaibo
That my Maracaibo with its colonial style
In my memories, I live your patron saint festivals
The parties with posters of Chiquinquirá
I’ve lived in that Maracaibo of palm trees
The one with contradances and crystal-clear lake
Where the powerful muses bathed
Of Vásquez and Pérez de Yepes and Baralt
That my Maracaibo with cheerful musicians
And natural scenes for Christmas time
I’ll never forget Germán the Galician
From the flower of Havana for his Zulia pride
Today I carry in my mind the fresh images
Of those carnivals bursting with color
And I see the floats on the main street
Parading grandly in front of San Juan de Dios
Today I carry in my mind the fresh images
Of those carnivals bursting with color
And I see the floats on the main street
Parading grandly in front of San Juan de Dios
I’ve lived in that Maracaibo of palm trees
The one with contradances and crystal-clear lake
Where the powerful muses bathed
